If you can actually see or feel for the deadbolt (the bit that does the actual locking), it's easily cut with a hacksaw blade and a bit of patience unless it's a higher end one with cut and drill protection, which is pretty unlikely on a coal cupboard. Leaves the door undamaged and all you need is a new lock (and you might want to consider a more secure lock for that :-) ) Speaking from experience.
If you look at the plans in the deeds, it should be clear whether it's exclusively yours or shared. |
