On one hand - GCC paid £150k
On the other hand - lots of people on here say the local economy benefits from the production (and normally it can attract tourists if actually released).
I'd like to see a breakdown of the increase in the local economy. My gut feeling is that Glasgow doesn't see much benefit from this at all because of disruption to trading, and the film companies using their existing contractors (Brad Pitt isn't getting his lunch at a locally owned restaurant every day - they have catering contractors, for example), but I think it would be great to see the real numbers. |
