Honestly in Glasgow cycling on the pavement is not uncommon. It say its pretty annoying if its crowded and dangerous if theyre taking blind corners tight or cycling close to doors etc.

However there are many places in Glasgow where the cycling infrastructure just isn't there, and you need to go on the pavement for one reason or another.. Saftey from weird multi lane intersections, areas which have 12 foot wide pavements but single lane traffic with no room for bikes, areas where the marked cycle lane just *is* the pavement.

Im guessing that maybe you moved in front of these guys without noticing that they were coming? Or didn't indicate before leaving the road? (not that anyone indicates, but if you wanna feel like you have done your due diligence) That doesn't excuse their shitty behaviour though.
