Comment	It depends on what part of Glasgow you’re talking about. The city centre? Definitely agree with you - everytime I go to town I’m dying to leave. Shops are boring and close too early. If I want to buy things, it’s easier, convenient & cheaper for me to buy online and have it delivered to my home or collect nearby. The most recent new stores I’ve seen open in town are another souvenir shop and that American candy store which took over the old forbidden planet. Food & drink options are the main reason why people still go to town. Last few nice days I’ve noticed town has been far more…alive. But in general, there’s this unsafe feeling I sense in the centre. Outside central, four corners, st enoch square always have something going on. Lockdown has definitely worsened the situation. I’ve noticed parts of the Southside have actually been improving which is really promising. Take a look at Shawlands/Strathbungo. The area has been taken over with independent cafes, restaurants and some shops. Majority are thriving and are packed. Queens Park generally feels safer to go through compared to years ago & has become more popular to chill in. They’ve been doing free movie screenings & events which has attracted more folk too. Areas like west end are always buzzing too. I can’t comment much on other areas of Glasgow as I don’t visit them much. I think lockdown has had a massive role to play in this, but in a positive way. When everything was closed, people had to amuse themselves by going out for walks. No one would go out their way to visit town so would stick to their local areas. Even after restrictions eased, I’ve noticed people prefer to stick to these areas for day visits/nights out. Last night, I drove through Kilmarnock Rd & Pollokshaws Road and the area was packed. Not too long later I had to go through sauchiehall street and barely saw anyone.
