Comment | So your first port of call would be to contact the school to speak with whoever is in charge of the pastoral care for his year group/class.
They can maybe recommend some extra curricular groups to build more social links and for him to increase his resilience.
If the school isn’t a good fit for him it may be worth making a move.
Some schools are better than others at dealing with issues but some schools are underfunded, understaffed and unable or unwilling to get involved.
Generally the more affluent the area the higher the pressure on the school to get results, which means that problematic pupils tend to get sidelined or encouraged to go elsewhere. |
