It depends on the construction. If it's a newer build then there may be a duct or telecoms pipe to each flat and the fibre cable can be passed through that. You can tell how it likely will be installed by looking at what City Fibre have done in preparation. If there is a Toby fitted on the ground at your building entrance or nearby then this means it will be a surface installation. A Toby is a small black plastic outlet and there will be one for each property.

When someone orders fibre broadband the building will firstly be prepared. A multi core fibre will be blown to the building and run up the wall to a distribution box. This will be commissioned and then as each flat connects an external fibre cable is clipped on the outside of the building from this box and a hole drilled through the wall. Internally a fibre to CAT 6 converter is fitted that then connects to the router.

I would recommend ordering on the Vodafone website as the City Fibre website is less than helpful. Often states that connections are not possible in your building when Vodafone just steam ahead and get it done. City Fibre is only the network owner, like Openreach, and cannot sell you any services directly. They just point you to providers in your area, Vodafone being the biggest at present.
