We are moving out from Glasgow after many, many years. Recently we went to the restaurant in the city centre to celebrate my partner's new job in Finland, then decided to go around the walk. I don't think we were really in the city centre for years, as we usually go out to Shawlands, and it is a disaster. Representative streets like Sauchiehall had been refubrished recently, but there is hardly anytihng left there but take aways and american candy shops...


We were astonished by the number of boarded up abandoned properties.


I know this is said to be a trend nowadays, everyone blames covid and raise in on-line buying, but I am regularly visiting Poland - I am from the town of the similar size to Glasgow, and, for the reasons mentioned above - been to Finland recently - to Helsinki and Turku, and compared to those, Glasgow looks like a zombie town while the cities in the EU are bursting with life...
