I think you are being very negative. The vending machines would be funded by the pharmacies who are private companies. The system works by paying a pharmacy for issuing a prescription. If the pharmacy can find a way to deliver prescriptions through automation and offer a 24/7 service then NHS patients will use that service.

I was at the local chippy today for the guys at work and the local Lloyds Pharmacy had a queue right out into the street. Old folk standing there, not good at all. A vending machine / locker arrangement would be a far better idea to get more prescriptions issued each hour of the day 24/7.

Much of what was mentioned is an expectation that is zero cost. The train service should already be providing it such as working toilets, friendly staff, punctuality, alcohol ban.

True some of the customer wants will cost money and investment but with such a militant workforce and union this is difficult.
