Contemporary academia is an elitist club designed for the maintenance of the existing status quo. Information and research can and should be formed and shared in a way that is accessible. Obviously scientific rigour is necessary, but the academic culture we currently have is holding us back. It shits out fast numbers of people whos minds, behaviours, and lifestyles do not fit the pre-existing norms of a white supremacist capitalist patriarchal system where everyones primary interest is putting themselves above anybody and everybody else in the hierarchy. |
