Yeah, can't help but feel the Edinburgh trams were really bad PR for that mode of transport in Scotland... The sad thing is, that even though it was a disaster at the beginning, it's a long-term investment that will last for decades. Already in Edinburgh, most people don't care what happened in the past, the talk is all about it being improved now that they've seen the value it brings. For example, how it's now being extended down to Leith and there's talk of a second line running through the old town. Glasgow's wider street would surely make it easier to do it here as well!
