There were more plans to build even more roads through the east end. This plan was shelved years ago but for some reason it resurfaced recently, there was a plan to build a motorway from bishop Briggs to rutherglen that would go down the east side of Alexandra park, absolutely chopping up the east end just so the people on the edge could get across the city even quicker. It was supposed to stop near the forge to attract shoppers from a bit further out.

Also there's actually 4 motorways that go through Glasgow. M8, M74, M80 and M77 which cuts off people from Pollok getting access to the country park and of course there was no chance of cutting off Dumbreck residents from the park. This was created to make it easier for people in East ren and Ayrshire to get to the centre.

It's almost as if decisions are always made in the interest of the better off.
