At this time of year it has *always* been difficult. I can remember when flat hunting consisted of going to look at the adverts in a window of a newsagents on Byres Road, and the classifieds in the Evening Times two or three times a week and then trying to catch the landlords on their home phone landline. I literally ended up homeless once because of it.
