Comment | It's surprisingly really easy to add like 10mph to some centre hub e-bikes. There's a magnet attached to the rear wheel and a sensor that the magnet passes to determine the speed. All it took for mine was to move the sensor and the magnet so that the magnet is now attached to the pedal. This confuses the bike into thinking it's going slower than than it really is so it goes a little faster before the motor cuts out.
All it took was 5 minutes, a screwdriver and some electrical tape. Been months now and the motor's fine.
This is easily reversible. |
