| Comment | Ahh sorry, I see the confusion, because I read and understood it without really thinking I didn't realise that outside of knowing specifically what it refers to you might be a bit lost!
This post might be a bit detailed, so apologies. So giving you context, cannabis is a class B, while possession is almost always a verbal warning, maybe a fine (last time I got one it was 75 quid), and a slap on the wrist. This is why people who don't know anything talk about it like it's legal. It's not legal, and people go to jail for selling all the time. In fact, over the pandemic the focus on getting dealers has increased, and a very low cost and traditional tactic is to post on forums asking subtly asking for hookups, you can actually go through this subreddit alone and find over a dozen examples if you can be bothered. Something that's funny about all of these examples is they tend to look and sound very similar, i.e. account less than a year old, posting subtle/slang terms (usually outdated/American). The age group doesn't really match the emoji use, and the slang term is one which isn't common at all here but is very common on reddit/America.
