I am sorry, but I disagree, and I have lived here for 13 years. Based on my personal experiences as a gay man, Glasgow is more homophobic than Manchester. There's a rough lad culture here that isn't tolerant to people acting gay. You get it in England as well, but not as strongly. I would not like to be a gay kid growing up in Glasgow or its satellites, e.g., Motherwell, Paisley.

My best friend is homophobic, a typical Glasgow lad, and I can't even tell him I am gay. I never experienced this in England growing up.
