Comment | Just look at the places in Glasgow that are already car free. They are buzzing with people shopping and eating. This has happened in many countries where people have been afraid that pedestrianising a region would cause businesses to fail, but in the end the opposite happened.
Personally, I'd much rather sit and eat outside with families walking around and kids playing than next to polluting vehicles. Even if I'm inside, the view is nicer when there are people rather than cars.
Also, with good public transit, getting on a quick train to Glasgow would end up being more convenient than driving and looking for parking. |
