Every disability is different and of course I can't speak for your situation personally, but overall having less dependence on cars is considered better for many disabled people who can't drive.

If there is good accessible public transit that runs frequently, it means a disabled person can get around without relying on a family member driving them around.

For those that are able to drive, in places like The Netherlands which are much more pedestrian friendly, they have special mini cars which are slower and don't pollute and are able to fit in bike lanes to get around. This is a much better solution than full cars that pollute, cause noise and make the city dangerous.
