I got into a rut. Had a bad back, bad knees, was getting out of shape. I was thinking, 'this is it, you're 36, and youth is over.' Someone recommended pilates, and I signed up to do inferno hot pilates at Glasgow Hot Yoga in Battlefield. It was amazing, super intense but it makes you feel great (after your first two or three visits at least, it'll make you feel pretty sick at first!). I went two/three times a week for a year or so (over zoom during the pandemic). I stopped when my wife and I had a kid, but I now know the exercises well enough to do it at home. I miss the heat, the teachers and the fact that paying a monthly fee forces you to do it. Downsides, where some weird class times. You can do the yoga classes too for the fee, but that never really interested me.
