I don't mean to probe, but I must query.. how much are you paying on bills & utilities (gas, electric, internet, council tax)? My conservative estimate would be, seeing as you're paying half the mortgage, that at most you're looking at about £300 a month on those things? Which puts you to £660 outgoing, leaving you around £900+ each month for food and leisure, which realistically should be enough to not be scraping by by the skin of your teeth presuming you have no dependents (I noticed you say you didn't have kids elsewhere.) - I'm really, genuinely not trying to be impertinent, but do you have a monthly budget you adhere to each month? How frequently do you get paid? Again, I sincerely hope you don't regard my probing as impertinence.
