Really confused. How can people in here who are making 1600/2000 a month after tax be skint? Seriously, I'm curious. If you're not counting your financed car, your mortgage, your expensive coffees, takeaways etc as luxuries then there's the problem. You can't have assets and finance and be skint. Surely if your renting too and it's costing a lot and you can't afford it, then it's time to move to a lower costing area because it's a luxury to stay in a pricey place that you can't afford. Not having a go but I'm just curious as to some people's thinking... I have a mate who is always saying he's skint yet he's actually got a savings account, is paying up a 30k car and smokes a tonne of weed (like 30 quids worth a night). I'm sorry but that's not being skint, that's just being daft with your finances. I'm making 1300 after tax, my partner makes 800 after tax, I run a motorbike, a van, rent a 500 a month flat, both of us take a puff too and we're okay, not great but not rock bottom. We count our blessings and know that we're not rich superstars so we don't go about throwing our cash at everything. I don't even buy those 500ml bottles of juice at garages or even just shops because, it's a waste of money!! Yet my mate grabs a couple bottles and a can of red bull every time he fills up, and he's considering himself to be skint? Nah. Obv I understand different people have different circumstances. People with kids or people renting themselves etc, understandable. But if you're like me and you're making more and think you're skint, maybe take a look at your spending.
