| Comment | Google works on an algorithm. It will try and send you the most efficient route. It has calculated that you’re quicker walking to Glassford St than sitting on a bus all the way around town.
In any city I have been Google throws up all sorts of weird and wacky suggestions, like using 3 different transport providers on 3 different routes, that would be 4 minutes quicker but 3 times as expensive. And it would have only been quicker if everything ran to complete perfection. The route I devised on my own would have been 2 buses from the same operator and one ticket, but 4 mins longer than the Google suggestion. |
