| Comment | It's the state of the drivers I am more concerned about while cycling. The incensed rage and hatred of cyclists here is truly frightening at times. I've had drivers deliberately clip me with their cars for example (twice, police involved both times, they both got away with it), been spat on out a window, had rubbish thrown at me out a window, swore at and had abuse shouted at me. Drivers here are fucking insane and angry.
Add in the fact that there are many terrible drivers and ones completely unaware of you when cycling (nearly been hit accidently, especially by wing mirrors, so many times it's not even funny) and it's a wonder anyone bothers.
I like cycling when it's quiet. I have no qualms about hitting the pavement if need be, especially when I don't feel safe on the road. |
