This one is not a clear cut helmets==good, no-helmet==bad. The research on the effects on wearing one is very inconclusive, and it's reflected in even [Cycling UK not being able to officially recommend wearing helmets](https://www.cyclinguk.org/campaigning/views-and-briefings/cycle-helmets). Long story short - yes, helmets protect your heid when you crash, but they also massively increase the likelihood of you crashing because they bring behavioural changes in you and drivers around you. |
