Don’t even waste your money, without getting too geeky about it soundwaves (especially lower pitches) don’t need much space to travel through.

You could build a cavity wall, use acoustic board and plaster to deaden it slightly but in order to be effective it would have to be done on every wall in the room.

Even then the sound would travel on the ceiling or in the floor.

I’ve stayed in a good few tenements and it’s just luck how good the sound insulation is, lived in one where it was that good I’d have thought next door was empty and another where I could hear my neighbour fart.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news here but unless you spend tens of thousands you aren’t soundproofing a southside tenement.
