| Comment | You're grossly underestimating how much deadwood there is in the council within upper management, and how many people are employed on obscene amounts and with bonuses attached to their contract. If we even halved their bonuses, froze their pay and slowly reduced the upper management workforce then the budget would increase markedly.
The stupid thing about the government and council approach to wages (grade system for example) is that once the workers at the bottom receive a payrise, most roles within the whole pyramid have to have pay increased to maintain the grading scale. |
