Nah, I don’t. I don’t really care that I’m going to get a *lot* of hate for posting this either.

I seen photographs of Princes Street in Edinburgh today and it was disgusting. Bins are overflowing with litter out onto the streets and local birds and other vermin are picking it up and spreading it around even more.

Last year, in my first year at college, we missed so many classes because our lecturers were striking. When we didn’t understand certain topics, or failed assessments, it was branded as our fault because we weren’t studying enough. Not because the lecturers were striking at least three times a fortnight.

People are missing vital medical appointments, being late to work, and missing other important events and meetings because of the train strikes. People can’t get to where they need to be, how is the world supposed to work when people literally cannot get from one place to another? Busses are unreliable and cabs cost more than a new house most of the time.

I get that people are being treated unfairly in their workplace and aren’t getting the pay they deserve. But striking and making conditions worse for *everyone*, not just your employers, isn’t the way to go about it.

If everyone in poorly paid position (retail, hospitality, mechanics, plumbers, window cleaners, bar staff - I could keep going) started striking and didn’t go to work then both the economy and the world would fall apart.

I’ve said what I said, move on.
