I guess it all comes to where you came from. If you cycled in Copenhagen, then Glasgow cycling must look like second level of hell for you. If you would start your cycling in Poland in 1990, when road traffic was something between Mad Max and carmageddon, then you would find cycling in Glasgow pretty relaxing.

I also have to say, that I am amazed how much the city is doing for the cycling infrastructure in recent years. My cycling commute takes me approx 40 minutes and as soon, as they will finish those cycle lanes on Victoria road, I'll be able to cycle virtually the whole distance separated from traffic.

Saying that, your movies show a bit what I was talking about: cyclist filming "near dooring in Glasgow" imho filters with too much speed. I would never cycle with such speed so close to stationary vehicles. Luckily his speed was enough to stop in time.

The situation "near miss, barrhead road" is a classic example of riding in the car's blind spot. When the driver of the car turned right even if he looked in the mirror, he could not see a cyclist, so he could assume, that the cyclist turned left or something. I think the cyclist should drop back a metre or two to not only allow himself to be seen, but also to not be riding side to side with car through a busy junction.

There is no excuse for the cop van to pass so close

And as for the fourth movie - I know the cyclist has right to ride in the middle of the road, but do he really need to do it all the time? I am trying to pull in to allow cars to pass whenever possible... And, last but not least: being right is one thing, being safe is the other. If I ride closer to the kerb, then cars have more space to pass me, and therefore pass me further. More space I live for them, more space they have to perform the maneuvre safely...

After all, we are all together on the road and I believe we should all - from cyclists and pedestrians to HGV's and buses - do everything to share it as easily for everyone as possible.
