They must get in by the red door to the right. From google maps satellite view and the floor plan, it is a bit of a weird shape that end of the building. On the floor plan you can see that the back door comes of the kitchen to go out into a small hall then the back garden. That small hall is probably communal and connects to the other flats next door, but will also have stairs up to those above.

Corner ground floor flats in tenements often have a weird layout when the building end isn’t at right angles, making it difficult to have a communal hallway to access all floors. So architects often made corner ground in those flats their own little one with its own door, and then used a separate entrance for the floors above. Sometimes it was round the corner, others, like this, involved the next door over.
