Shawlands and surrounding area is a great place to live imo right now and has lots of potential for the future.

Finnieston/anywhere West End is ludicrously inflated right now. Sale prices are upwards of 25% above asking... And development space is shrinking as investors have popped up apartments everywhere. It's prime Real Estate but with less opportunity to run than elsewhere in the city.

Just a word of advice - With the current state of the economy I'd hold out and save what you can for your deposit for another 6 months. House prices are quite likely to drop as many people default on all sorts of payments. My last flat got sold this month by an investor who owns upwards of 200 properties in Glasgow. The man who did the home report said we're at the peak of a big housing bubble at the minute. Lots of factors including a price bubble hangover from Covid making the market very seller friendly.
