Decent pair of water proof boots and an actual waterproof jacket with a hood (not just water resistant).

Get some decent thick socks, cosy jumpers, jeans, a decent hat and gloves and you'll be fine. I also like to have lots of big cosy hoodies and joggies/slippers for around the house in winter.

Generally speaking in my experience the key to Glasgow winters is proper water proof stuff. And have layers that you can take off when you get indoors, we are generally quite good at heating and insolation which means our houses are really warm in the winter but absolute heat traps in summer.
