Don't use MDF, use ply or better OSB3. MDF is very moisture sensitive and that's a problem in a kitchen or bathroom. OSB outperforms both MDF and ply on almost every metric except appearance. Also panel saw cut MDF is sharp AF. Ask my hands how I know this.
