| Comment | done. i want the traffic levels in glasgow city center to go back to the levels they were during the pandemic. it was so great being able to wander around city center without having to have my headphones on (i have autism and can be a bit sensitive to noise) i've seen the plans for the transformation and i think it's great, not perfect but a step in the right direction.
i've also seen they're finally going to be connecting up some of the cycling infrastructure which is also a big win imho. so much of glasgow's cycling infrastructure just stops and spits you into 3 lanes of traffic where you're always in the wrong lane OR spits you onto the pavement which isn't good for pedestrians or cyclists.
i think GCC, for all their flaws know that car-centric infrastructure is unsustainable and the sooner you can get folks out their cars and onto reliable public transport or more active transport methods, the better. |
