| Comment | The more I think about it, the more I think the council is right to just lean in on not appeasing people who want to treat the city centre like one big shopping mall.
Redesign it for living in and prioritise all new regeneration, transport and urban realm planning on the city centre for those people that will be living there (as the council thankfully now seems to be doing). The city centre will fill up with residents and the place will take care of itself.
The rest can continue to whinge online about being banished or stigmatised or whatever. Meanwhile the city centre can carry on changing for the better. |
