The uploading of footage may result in a prosecution and a criminal record for the driver. It's all about the context. If for example the driver mowed down a pedestrian and drove off then that may lead to a prosecution and criminal conviction in court.
The reality is that dashcam footage may in itself not be enough to send a notice of intended prosecution or even a fine. It may be enough to send a warning letter and I think that will be the outcome in 90% plus of cases. |
