My energy bill is nowhere close to 5 grand a year, but if it was, I'd look for a job, emptying bins or otherwise.
I don't have any bits of paper but I know that when I started working I needed more cash than I was earning so I worked 2 jobs for a while. Then I worked lots of overtime. Then I retired aged 55 to a flat with no mortgage and an energy bill nowhere near 5 grand. Not once in 33 years of working did I go on strike but I did keep 20+ people in a boring job but they were decently paid. They earn less than the average bin man in Glasgow, yet can afford to raise their kids, buy new cars and go on several holidays each year.
