I used to cycle in Germany a lot. Cars and bikes get on together quite nicely over there. Now that I'm back in Glasgow, I won't dare ride a bike here because I don't trust the drivers. Yes, it's a minority. But it only takes one to knock me off my bike. I drive very carefully and give cyclists plenty of space and only overtake when it's absolutely safe for everyone concerned. Trouble is, many times when I do this, the driver behind me is often flinging his arms up or honking his horn impatiently, all for a few seconds. The attitude of many drivers in this country needs to change.
