| Comment | Honestly I think the problem isn't the schools but the system itself where it's about pumping out as many good results for the school as possible regardless of whether a child wants to go on to further education etc. I went to school with a guy who wanted to get into something practical and asked if he could go on one of the vocational courses to learn trade skills and was told those were just for wasters and he was so talented academically it wouldn't be worth his while, well a Higher in English and a Higher in Art wasn't worth his while either but looked better for the school than the tragic loss of a child into a well paying and always needed profession... |
