mmmm, I wouldn't judge how busy the city is by streetview. Might be the photos were taken early in the morning, or on a weekend. GSA is up on a mostly residential sidestreet at the top of a hill, so it's fairly quiet outside of class times.
The centre is very busy though, and it's just a stone's throw from Sauchiehall Street which is the city's main nightlife street.
