| Comment | Was listening to an episode of Sloss and Humphries recently (or was it Btec Philosophers?). Anyway, whatever podcast it was, the comedians got into the topic of "who has the worst audience in comedy" and they agreed it was Kevin Bridges - I should add they're fans of Kevin Bridges, so it wasn't a dig at him.
They speculated that it's because he appeals to more than just the usual stand-up fans; whether it's that he's broadly relatable to Glaswegians, sesh-lovers (hoose party sketch shot him to stardom and had cunts shitting in kettles for years), and tbh wee bams that hink they're just as funny as Kevin Bridges too.
They mentioned his gigs normally have pissed hecklers, fights and rude/loud drunks. His crowd is usually more drunk or coked up than other comedy crowds. His audiences are also fuckin huge too, so that in itself makes it way more likely to have a few cunts in attendance. So basically, his comedy gigs are way more like a huge music concert/gig.
So aye, apparently it's common. Sorry this didn't answer your question, but thought it was an interesting observation from other comedians from the trade. |
