There are a few all in one type clinics for specific things (eg breast clinic). Most aren’t and a first appointment will be info gathering and examination, maybe bloods. It will then be planning t investigations if needed and suggesting treatment. Without knowing what it’s for (please don’t tell us if you don’t want) I can’t give more specifics, but that’s the basics of most specialist clinics. Sometimes clinics will have physios or similar health professionals there too. Cardiology clinic might have someone doing echos (heart scans) for that clinic at the same time as that would likely affect planning immediately. Does your appointment say anything about how long the appointment will be? If it does state that, then it’s usually more than seeing the doctor for assessment.

Also first appointments are usually a bit longer than return appointments

Hope this helps
