| Comment | The problem is, when councils do try positive things, nimbies ruin it. Look at the Bearsway cycle route in E. Dumbartonshire - it is half finished, because people in Bearsden were upset that they were losing a few parking spaces, and local councillors were afraid of losing votes. This route could have been a great example of an active travel route, but now it will be probably be years before it is finished. |
