Not quite Glasgow, but Halfway in Cambuslang used to be well known for car thievery and joyriding. There's also a big newish green space that links up castlemilk and the back end of rutherglen called Fernbrae Meadow where there are often burnt out motors abandoned so I'm assuming car theft is alive and well out there somewhere.
