Yes I agree. I think at last there may be some movement in the provision of bus and cycle lanes. The new corridors that are being planned will abolish all on street parking on key routes. Unfortunately Byres Road is not included. It's time to wake up and smell the coffee. There are cars parked al the way up that road effectively taking up 50% of the space. All parking should be banned 24/7 to encourage active travel and give everybody more space. Initially the businesses will be up in arms as usual but car drivers will get used to it. They just need to park somewhere else and walk for a bit. Consideration of course must be given to where in the area there is some available land to allow parking within a reasonable distance from shopping areas. Taking Byres Road as an example there are two car parks but still the street is lined from top to bottom with parked cars.
