Interestingly the precinct all the way down from Sauchiehall Street is a pedestrian and cycle zone. It starts at the end of the cycle way up Sauchiehall Street where the crossing has a green bike light and continues down Buchanan Street. More recently the council has installed proper road signs that state pedestrian and cycle zone.
During COP26 the signs were not there but the crossing has been like that for years. Seen a few bored police officers stop cyclists and give them warnings. They were bored shitless giving the Maccies a 24/7 guard. Fortunately for them I didn't get stopped as I would have marched them up to the crossing to shown them it's a bike zone. |
