This is at least the third set of proposals to renovate, demolish, or otherwise seriously alter Buchanan Galleries, and it gets less ambitious each time (remember *"Let's move the whole car park to over Queen Street Station, and build restaurants and another cinema over Cathedral Street!"*?).
Maybe there's an inflection point where the feasibility is high enough, and the existing structure decrepit enough, that it becomes possible, but I don't think we're there yet.
Who'd even be daft enough to rely on anything retail-centred being viable for however long it takes to pay off?
