> Me and my gf

Ahem. "My gf *and I*". You can't start a rant about standards, yet fail to uphold them yourself.

> First of all, I have never seen so much trash in my life.

Many will claim it was because of the strike. Whilst that didn't help, it's not the cause. The cause is simple, Glaswegians. They have no respect for their city and expect someone on minimum wage to lick the street clean after them.

Using bins are taking your rubbish home seems to be an alien concept to most Glaswegians, and I have never understood why. I can only assume their parents were clatty bassas as well.

> there were some junkies yelling and threating somebody in the middle of the street and there wasn't a single police officer there to stop them.

Dealing with mental health/addiction issues isn't the job of the police, it's a job for social services and the NHS; but these services are grossly underfunded across the whole UK, the problem is not unique to Scotland or even Glasgow.

The good news is that there are still good places and people in Glasgow. My advice would be to avoid the city centre. With WFH the life and the people are now in the suburbs.
