Loads of the streets around Norfolk Street are just unrestricted parking. Few wee car parks of resident only parking but otherwise OP has got as much right to park in the street as a resident. You don't have a special right to park on a public road just because you live near it. Source - I park in the Gorbals all the time when I'm heading into town.
