My contract says I am entitled to 33 holidays per year, and that this is inclusive of 8 bank holidays. Pretty sure they’re sound from a legal standpoint, it’s just leaving a bad taste in a lot of employees’ mouths.
Your work sounds class though, moving your day of grievance to conveniently land on your birthday would be lovely.
