| Comment | That's true about the tunnel under George Square / City Chambers. It's a tunnel that goes from the BT Dial house next to the hilton hotel and goes to the city chambers and further on to the Royal infirmary.
The idea was that if there was an attack in Glasgow communications could still be used via accessing the dial house via the tunnel and the hospital could be reached.
I done work in the dial hous ea few years back and that's what the building manager told me, I was dying to have a look at the access door is on the lower ground floor but as expected you need a permit to access the tunnel and the door has about half a dozen locks. |
