| Comment | Two friends and I have been meeting up at the same place at the same time on the same day pretty much every week for the last two years. They've both recently got girlfriends.
One friend continues to meet up with me at the same time and place as they have done for years. We've also started doing things outwith this particular meetup. He tells me little bits of how his GF is doing and we pretty much do our thing as always.
Our other friend has pretty much completely ditched us. Since seeing this person, they've become flaky to the point where we have to confirm if we're having our regular meetups or not as opposed to just showing up like we did before. They've pretty much stopped messaging us and when they do, it's almost always a last-minute cancelation. If they do turn up, the time and venue is often changed to the whims of the girlfriend and they often leave early when she's had enough.
It sucks to have a catch up with friends you look forward to every week essentially finished because of one person. I get that people's partners are important aspects of their lives, but it's not nice to suddenly be pushed to the side by someone you considered a good friend as a result. |
